National Highways Development Project (NHDP)

The Government launched National Highways Development Project (NHDP) to upgrade and strengthen National Highways through various phases of National Highways Development ‘project (NHDP). The NHDP project is primarily being implemented through NHAI. Some projects under NHDP Phase III and NHDP Phase IV are being directly implemented by Ministry through State PWDs. The phase-wise details of NHDP (including other projects on NHs by NHAI) as on 31.10.2017 are as follows:

 Sources of funding for NHDP

            The NHDP is funded from Cess collected form Petrol & Diesel (as per Central Road Fund Act, 2000), amount collected from toll apart from External Assistance, Internal & Extra Budgetary Resources (IEBR) and Private Sector Investment.
